You may have discovered the word “cannabinoid” if you’ve ever seen a jar of a CBD topical or perhaps talked to a friend about its wonderful potential benefits. If you’ve just begun your journey into CBD, you might be thinking at this point, “What are the cannabinoids in this CBD I’m thinking about purchasing?”

With more and more research coming out over the years, it can be easy to get lost in all the science talk. Today we’ll break down cannabinoids in a way that is not only easy to understand, but may help you in choosing the right CBD for your body. All our CBD products are broad-spectrum, so you can be sure your body is getting the potential benefits it would love to have. Let’s jump into 4 different kinds of cannabinoids below.

Danu Cannabinoid guide

CBD

This type of cannabinoid gets the most attention, as its use has increased dramatically across the country in the past few years. No matter where you live, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of CBD and those who just can’t get enough of it. So let’s get right to it!

CBD means cannabidiol, and it is just one of the numerous cannabinoid compounds found in the hemp plant. Unlike its counterpart THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t have you feeling impaired after use. However, many of the benefits that THC consumers swear by can actually be found within CBD.

CBD influences the CB1 and CB2 receptors of the endocannabinoid system. Many CBD tincture and softgel users have reported positive health effects such as decreased anxiety. Topical CBD solutions have also proved beneficial to some individuals suffering from chronic arthritis

CBN

CB-What? This is perhaps one of the lesser-known cannabinoids derived from hemp, but also one of the most important. CBN is short for cannabinol. When consumed alongside CBD, CBN has been associated with what some consumers report as a mild sedative effect. This relaxed state may help individuals who suffer from insomnia or other sleep-related disorders.

CBG

How about CBG? This may be another cannabinoid you might not have heard of, but it’s an important one, nonetheless. CBG, or cannabigerol, is a compound found in the hemp plant that’s been sparking more national interest recently.

Research is relatively new on the potential health benefits of CBG, however, some studies have begun to suggest it may help with a wide variety of conditions including glaucoma, appetite loss, and bladder issues.

CBC

Last, but not least we have CBC, or cannabichromene. This is another important cannabinoid found in the hemp plant and we’ve found anecdotal evidence that it may help with pain relief, as well as calm down one’s nerves. Just like CBD, CBN, and CBG, CBC is non-psychoactive, so you never have to worry about feeling out of control while going about your day-to-day activities.

Danu cannabinoid terpenes

Why do all these cannabinoids and terpenes matter to your body?

When using broad-spectrum CBD oil like Danu Apothecary’s, you’ll get not only CBD, but these other compounds as well to ensure your body can take advantage of the “entourage effect”. The entourage effect is the concept that these terpenes work better when consumed together and can potentially provide more relief than if taken separately.

At Danu Apothecary, we believe in providing natural solutions to life’s everyday aches and pains, whether that be fighting anxiousness or ankle pain. All our CBD products are broad-spectrum, so you can be sure your body is getting the potential benefits it would love to have.
